When a garage door jumps the track, most homeowners don't realize how quickly it can go from a minor annoyance to a serious problem. The door gets stuck, you can't get your car out, and forcing it makes things worse. We see this all the time - and it's almost always fixable without a full replacement.
Here's what was going on with this one. The door had come off the vertical track at the curve where it transitions from the wall into the horizontal run along the ceiling. That bend is one of the most vulnerable spots on the whole system. When the rollers lose their path there, the door binds up fast and puts stress on everything around it.
We got the door safely back into position, seated the rollers properly back into the track, and made sure the track itself was secure and aligned the way it should be. A door that's been off track can sometimes shift the hardware around it, so we always check the full run - not just the obvious spot - before we call it done.
The end result was a door running clean and smooth again. No grinding, no resistance, no worrying about whether it's going to get stuck halfway. That's the goal every time - not just fix the immediate issue, but make sure you're not dealing with the same thing again in a few weeks.
An off-track garage door isn't something to sit on. The longer it runs misaligned - or the more you try to muscle it open - the more you risk bending the track, damaging the panels, or burning out the opener. If something feels off with how your door is moving, that's your cue to get it looked at.
